So here’s what I have going on in the bass department:
This is Martha. She is a 1980 Musicman Stingray bass and I have owned her for the past 15 years. I fell in love with her as soon as I saw her and she sounds as good as she looks!
Martha has a 3 band EQ and sounds awesome both live and in the studio.
Next up we have Elmo the 1967 Eko Bass.
I bought Elmo in a second hand shop around 10 years ago and we’ve had so much fun together gigging and recording.
Elmo has a great variety of tones and is perfect for acoustic situations and almost sounds like a double bass!
Markbass CMB JB Players School – 200w 1×15″ Combo
I love this amp sooooo much!
Before I moved to Austin, I had a Trace Elliot amp with separate 15″ and 4 x 10 speakers. For the most part I only used the amp with the 15″ cab and it sounded fantastic.
Sadly I couldn’t bring that set up with me from the UK….so when I arrived in the USA I was looking for something that sounded as punchy as my old rig and was easy to carry around…..along came this bad boy.
This combo is PERFECT! Both Martha and Elmo sound amazing through it and it’s so light weight – ahhhhh
